A destination for memories

At Engalin we offer a stage for couples
to declare their love to each other,
and to share this moment with their family and friends.

We specialise in “curating togetherness”,
the intangible art of transforming guest lists into a community,
that will nurture matrimony for years to come.

We craft lasting memories through Convivial Architecture,
and serve Food Performances that cultivate togetherness,
energised by the magical nature of Gascony.

Engalin is the home of Marwan & Jeremy,
together since 1988 …
They invite you to share it with them.

Chateau Engalin

An architectural stage that marries 21st-century functionality with
the histories hidden in its 18th-century stone walls.

The quirky collection of contemporary and vintage furniture, art and found objects, together with the abundant natural light that floods the generous open spaces,
define the unique Engalin atmosphere.

The Food Lab

This is where we cook transformative experiences.
We believe that food is the edible art that brings people together;
when served as theatrical performance, it carves unforgettable gastronomical memories.

The Food Lab celebrates Terroir Fusion, the signature cuisine of Engalin.
We experiment with the taste of local produce, and marry it with other cultures.

The magic of Gascony

Gascony, the land of Engalin, is a historic region full of medieval villages and markets, overflowing with valleys, rolling hills and sunflower fields.
It is the home of ancient Armagnac and stories of new experimental vineyards.

Engalin luxuriates in 360º views of unspoilt rural landscape and majestic skies,
where nature breathes soul into togetherness.
BIO
Marwan Badran
was born in Baghdad to a Lebanese/Palestinian father and an Indian/Portuguese mother. He arrived in London in his teens and went on to complete a medical degree at University College London.
His passion for all things foodie led him to compete on Master Chef in 1993 where he reached the semi-finals.
Marwan opened his Islington restaurant EUPHORIUM in 1995, a creative collaboration with a stream of architects, graphic designers, furniture makers and artists but always with food at its heart. It was immediately shortlisted for the Time Out Restaurant of the Year award. Two years later, Marwan launched EUPHORIUM Bakery, which pioneered the ‘handmade on the premises’ baking revolution.
Marwan moved to Gascony in South West France in 2005 to establish Engalin, a culinary utopian retreat, hosting private and corporate events. In 2017, he founded Mouth, a biennial event hosting art and Food Performances. These experiences led him to study Creative and Cultural Entrepreneurship at Goldsmiths, University of London.
